Showing Thankfulness:
November is the month we focus on being Thankful. #ThankfulNovember is a great hashtag to celebrate thankfulness on social media. It is awesome to see what people post as they dwell in the mentality of thankfulness in the month of Thanksgiving.
As parents we want to raise thankful kids. We hope they say thank you when we aren’t around so we drill the idea of saying thank you into their heads. It is wonderful to see goodness when kids show they are thankful. Giving and showing thanks should be an everyday occurrence, but I like to see it highlighted in the month of November.
Seeing others highlight thankfulness in November brings hope and good feelings #GOODTHINGS. As parents and kids we need to give our teachers and coaches thanks. They work so hard and deserve our gratitude. As parents, we like our kids to show us thankfulness too. If we demonstrate thankfulness, our kids will learn by our example.
I wrote an article for Her View From Home about kids showing thankfulness to teachers and coaches. The video by SoulPancake where kids surprise coaches and teachers with an expression of thankfulness inspired me to write this article highlighting the goodness in our hardworking teachers, coaches, and parents. In the SoulPancake video the teachers thought they were coming to discuss challenges but they were surprised by their students who showed up to give them thanks. It’s heartwarming to watch.

I am thankful for my husband and kids, my family, my pets, my friends and neighbors, my home, my church, my health, my country, my food, and my opportunities. The thankful list can go on and on forever…….which is a blessing for sure.
