Family movie night has always been a special time in our house. Our family has gathered together to watch a movie and either have pizza or snacks many times over the years. We have found an awesome Christian movie and tv show subscription service online called Pure Flix. We’ve recently enjoyed Movies With Christian Values From Pure Flix and Easy Anytime S’mores at our house (simple recipe at the end of this post). As a Christian mom, I am very impressed with Pure Flix and I’m going to share with you why I love it.

Pure Flix Review

Pure Flix is an online media subscription service that provides subscribers with the ability to view family-friendly shows and movies that align with Christian values. Some of the shows and movies are about faith and others simply align with Christian values. They also offer documentaries and educational movies as well as many tv show series. I love how Pure Flix has handpicked movies and shows with Christian values in mind so families have thousands of choices at their fingertips that meet with their own Christian family values.

The best part is they offer a one month free trial membership so families can check it out before they commit.

Movieguideâ„¢

Some of the movie descriptions even include a Movieguideâ„¢ review in their description. I love this description because it provides a detailed review of the movie through a Christian viewpoint. The helpful review even mentions specific examples of how the movie aligns with Christian views.

The highly detailed description also includes an age recommendation, plus it gives parents information they want to know such as the date it was released, the rating (G or PG), and any foul language information or profanity in the movie. The description often even mentions the exact words from the movie. Movieguideâ„¢ rates the level of foul language, the violence level, the level of any sexual content, and the level of nudity if any. It also mentions if alcohol, smoking, or drugs appear in the movie. As a parent, I love having this information handed to me to prevent suffering from any nasty surprise of undesirable content appearing before my kids’ eyes.

The Website Setup

The website is divided into the following categories:

  • educational
  • faith
  • general
  • independent
  • kids (by age group including babies & toddlers, ages 5-10, 8-12, and 12-16)
  • movies and short films
  • series

This makes it easy to target the movie or show to the desired audience. It is easy to find the category I need whether it’s something for the kids to watch or for myself. They also include categories for most watched, recently added, and featured videos. Other categories in the menu for easy searching include trending now, classics, drama, popular series, sermons & ministry, and Spanish.

My boys enjoy viewing children’s tv series shows and they have found one they love on Pure Flix.

Pure Flix Blog

Pure Flix also has a blog with articles reviewing recently released popular movies through a Christian lense plus articles on other Christian topics of interest. I found articles on the blog about heartfelt topics as well as daily guidance for Christians. This is a great bonus of the Pure Flix website.

How To Make Anytime S’mores

S’mores are a favorite at our house and they have been for years. We’ve enjoyed them while camping or simply in the backyard at the bonfire. Sometimes we crave them when we don’t have a fire to roast marshmallows over and we make my Easy Anytime S’mores instead.

The ingredients to make this yummy snack are common ingredients and it only takes a few minutes to make these s’mores. Break a graham cracker sheet in half and spread 1/2 Tbsp. Nutellaâ„¢ on one cracker and 1/2 Tbsp. Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Cremeâ„¢ on the other half and put them together like a sandwich. It tastes exactly like a s’more but maybe is a little bit more healthy with the Nutellaâ„¢ (which contains some protein, calcium, and iron) instead of a chocolate bar. Only a thin layer is needed to deliver the yummy taste. These are so good and they go fantastic with a glass of milk.

I hope you’ve found this review helpful! Grab your Easy Anytime S’mores and sit down on the couch with your family to try out your own free trial of Pure Flix. We watch Pure Flix on our tv using our Xbox One counsel.
