Imagine the crispiness and crunchiness of toast with the flavor of pizza!
First of all, I am a pizza fanatic! I love pizza. Adore it. And this recipe does not disappoint, it is so good, tasty, yummy, and I would eat this every few days if I could. It’s simple to make and it works great for lunch or dinner or even as an appetizer. This bread makes a super delicious crunchy crispy pizza crust, but make sure you follow the recipe exactly to get the yummiest result:)
The first step is making the loaf of pizza bread in a breadmaker. The slices of the bread become the pizza crust. This toast pizza recipe is perfect for families who want different toppings as people can make it meatless or have it topped with pepperoni or another meat topping. This makes it a perfect split table recipe because it makes personal pizzas.
The loaf of bread is super good with just garlic butter spread on it too, but my favorite way to eat this pizza bread is as Toast Pizza!

The pizza bread loaf is made with the following ingredients. Place the ingredients into a breadmaker in the order they are listed.
Bread loaf only ingredients (Pizza toast ingredients listed separately below):
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt with parsley
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
- 2 1/2 tsp. regular active dry yeast
Run the breadmaker cycle on white, light, larger loaf settings. My breadmaker takes about 3 hours and 25 minutes to bake the bread loaf. Once it is done, remove loaf and let cool.
Slice loaf into thin slices, for about 10 slices if making 10 Toast Pizzas.
I like to use a bread slicing guide tool and an electric knife to cut the loaf. The price has gone up on this system since the time I obtained it, but it really is worth it. It might be worth doing a search to find a cheaper one, but this one is the one I use and love. The electric knife is the best way to get thin slices from a breadmaker-made loaf of bread. Using it creates even, thin slices, which is the best way to make this recipe.

How to Make Toast Pizzas:
Ingredients for Pizza Toast only (breadmaker bread ingredients listed above):
- About 15 Tbsp. pizza sauce
- 5 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Pepperoni or toppings as desired
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Spray 2 cookie sheets with cooking spray. Lay out all ten slices on the cookie sheets. Melt 1/2 c. butter and stir in 1/4 tsp. garlic powder. Spread garlic butter across the entire surface of each slice of bread with a brush, then flip it over so the garlic buttered side of the bread slice is down.
Preheat oven to 350°.
Top each slice of bread with about 1 1/2 Tbsp. pizza sauce, spreading it across the entire slice.
Next, sprinkle about 1/2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese across each sauce covered slice.
Sprinkle about 1/4 c. shredded mozzarella cheese across each pizza toast.
Leave the pizza toast as cheese, or top with pepperoni or other toppings as desired.
Cook the pizza toast slices for about 16 minutes (14-16) until the cheese is melted and the undersides of the pizza toasts are golden. Slice as desired and serve.
It’s so yummy!
Pizza Toast is a Perfect Hybrid Meal
What’s a hybrid meal? Well, I will tell you:)
This is how life goes in my house as we are a Split Table family composed of both Vegetarians & Meat-Eaters. I enjoy making meals for my family that can fit both types of diets: meatless and meat-containing to please all members of my family (and make it less work for me). This Pizza Toast meal is a perfect example of this type of family meal because it can easily be customized for both types of diets by either adding meat to the pizza toast or leaving it off making it a meatless pizza toast.
We have family members in my family who like cheese pizza, turkey pepperoni lovers, and regular pork pepperoni lovers and with a meal like this, everyone gets what they want because each pizza toast is customized to each family members dietary needs/wants. A win-win all around! Happy faces, smiles, and full bellies…yes!

Breadmaker
Don’t have a breadmaker? I have this one shown below and love it. It is big, however, I adore using it because when I’m baking a loaf, my house smells amazing! Plus, it makes such yummy bread that I made room in my cabinet to store it.

I’ve used both types of the yeast packets below to make the pizza loaf and both have worked great. I really have not noticed a difference in using one or the other in this recipe either. Results have been the same for me.
