Air fryers allow foods to be cooked with less oil which makes them healthier without sacrificing taste.

These air fryer french fries are a great side dish at any meal. They also make a great appetizer idea or snack. We usually don’t add any extra salt because the seasoned salt is already there, but feel free to add salt if desired.

The peeling of the potatoes and cutting them into sticks is the most cumbersome part of this recipe, but you’d have to cut the potatoes up for any kind of French fry recipe, so this is normal. Expected. Once the potatoes are peeled and cut into sticks, add the coconut oil, and two seasonings are added. Easy peasy, my friend!

The 4 Ingredients for these Easy Air Fryer French Fries

This is so simple. And, you probably already have these ingredients in your cupboard as they are very common (at least in the United States).

Four ingredients:

  • 6 potatoes (medium-sized) peeled and cut into sticks (I use Russett potatoes)
  • 2 teaspoons melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt (I use ®Lawry’s)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, 16 oz

McCormick Onion Powder, 20 OZ

That’s it! Seriously! That’s all it takes to make these tasty homemade fries.

Once the potatoes are peeled and cut, melt two teaspoons of coconut oil in a small bowl in the microwave to melt it.

Pour the melted coconut over the cut potato sticks in a large bowl. Stir and rotate the potato sticks to fully coat them in coconut oil.

Mix 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt with 1/4 teaspoon onion powder in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the potato sticks and stir well.

Add the oiled and seasoned potato sticks to the air fryer cooking chamber. Cook for 20-27 minutes at 400° (the time will vary depending on the size of the potatoes). Shake the air fryer chamber 5-6 times during the cooking time to ensure the fries are cooking evenly. Cook until the fries are golden and crispy, but watch so they don’t burn.

Serve immediately. Dip in ketchup, ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, mustard, or your fave dipping sauce.

Low-Fat Recipes Made using an Air Fryer

I’ve had my air fryer for a while now and I adore it because I can make tasty foods with less fat. I’ve made all sorts of foods in my air fryer such as a Mexican egg dish, a cinnamon delicata squash side dish, and mashed potato rolls appetizer or side dish. I have also used it to make breaded foods such as chicken nuggets, fish, and mozzarella sticks. There are so many different foods that can be successfully cooked using an air fryer.

I adore how only two teaspoons of coconut oil are needed for six whole potatoes! And, they are delicious! My whole family adores this recipe, and we’ve added it to many meals such as when we grill burgers or chicken, or with grilled cheese. We’ve also enjoyed these air fryer french fries as a snack or appetizer. We are ketchup lovers, so we often dip our fries in ketchup.

Enjoying these fries while they are fresh is the best. So super yummy!

As a leftover, these fries tend to get a bit soggy when heated in the microwave, but they are still very tasty. I chow them down as a leftover too:)

Coconut Oil

I love using coconut oil because it gives the fries a good flavor. Many people believe there are health benefits to be had from using coconut oil in cooking. I use it to grease pans as well as in cooking and in recipes such as this one. Whether it really has health benefits or not, I don’t care because I really like to use it in cooking for the end result it gives to foods. It is a great ingredient to get foods crispy and golden. Do your meal a favor and get some! You won’t be disappointed.

Coconut oil is good for your skin and hair too! I love this stuff! It soaks right into your skin and hair very quickly. It’s rather luxurious…

Enjoy!

I hope you enjoy this recipe! It’s so easy which makes it a great addition to a meal.

Eat well and enjoy life!
