Pure Essential Oils for Clear Skin

Clear skin can be a battle for many women. I’ve had my share of breakouts over the years, that’s for sure. Mix in hormones, stress, and diet and skin can go haywire. I’m collaborating in this blog post with Simply Earth for preparing recipes for pure essential oils for clear skin. This month’s box was gifted to me for my honest review, and I adore it so very much. I love using natural essential oils for my skin because using natural products is important to me.

As a teenager, I loved spa night at sleepovers. I adored reading techniques and tricks in magazines about how to make skin glow. There were times I was heating water to steam my face in the kitchen or smearing the latest green mask all over my face so I looked like a zombie. Well, that girl is all grown up now, but she thrives in me still and using essential oils and making recipes with them satisfies this desire.

The theme of this month’s box is something I care about. Not that I’m overly vain, but I like to look nice and I adore when I have a good streak of healthy glowing skin. This box is fun. I adored making the recipes, I like cooking so making recipes is right up my alley. Beauty recipes are just plain fun and perfect for a self-care pampering idea. Plus, I adore that this Simply Earth skincare regimen is a toxin-free way to achieve clear skin (if using the previous affiliate link, the code is JULIEHOAGWRITERFREE).

What’s in the Box?

Well, let me tell you.

This fun blue box contains recipes for a face scrub, facial steam, a facial mask, facial toner, face cream, and acne treatment. Most of the ingredients come in the box, but there are a few you will need to pick up at the store, but it’s simple common stuff. It comes with multiple kinds of essential oils, bottles, and coconut oil. I adore coconut oil. It’s luxurious and it has so many uses.

Uses for this Box of Pure Essential Oils

The recipes in this box are super fun. I like to make things. I’m crafty, so mixing up concoctions for beauty and pampering purposes is something I love. I have all boys, so I have no daughters to enjoy this with, but I think making these recipes and then using them would make for a perfect mother-daughter activity. Think of all the fun memories you can make with your daughter(s) if you plan a night together to pamper yourselves with these recipes. How fun is that and I’m super jealous;)

Or, another idea is to make these recipes at your daughter’s sleepover. All the girls will love to try out all the recipes. I would have loved to have done that at a sleepover when I was a tween or teen, seriously so much fun.

Another idea for the use of these recipes using pure essential oils is to make them and give them to family or friends as gifts. Who wouldn’t love a natural homemade skincare product for a gift? I sure would.

Lastly, make it a fun girls’ night in with your women friends. Get some wine, cheese and crackers, fruit, and brownies and make these recipes and use them. Make it a grownup girls night in with your friends.

Fun recipes:

recipe cards for pure essential oils box

The recipe cards are easy to follow. There is information on the cards for how to use the various oils.

Prep tip: Make sure you follow the directions on the cards, especially for the one where things need to be melted for the lotion recipe. Read ahead before you start so you don’t screw up. For the double boiler in the lotion recipe, I used a small saucepan half full with water and boiled the water. I laid the pan lid upside down over the boiling pot and added the ingredients to be melted to the inverted lid. Once they were melted, I stirred the melted ingredients with an oil per the directions, then it is mixed with the rest of the ingredients.

I really love the face lotion for my hands as well as my face. It smells wonderful and it’s very moisturizing.

cocnut oil

I often use coconut oil and make up my own concoctions. Coconut oil is great for your hair and for fantastic for massages with your significant other in addition to putting on your skin within lotions. I can’t wait to play with all the oils from the box and make different recipes with these lovely ingredients. But, I really love the provided recipes also because they can be nice as they help catch some of the fun too.

Thank for reading and I hope you take the time for beauty in your life. Self-care is important care for your health.

Yes, I totally love the facial regimen recipes. It’s so much fun. I love the astringent and the lotion, and the roll-on acne treatment. They are my faves.

I’ve never thought about using essential oils on my face. I have very oily skin and always thought it would cause me to breakout, but after this I can’t wait to try out the rosemary steam recipe!

You know, so do I. My facial skin is very oily. I’m trying this out and so far I’m happy with it. I like the rollon, it has tea tree oil in it which helps with breakouts. My skin is so oily I have to powder several times a day to keep the shine down. Yeah, I’m loving all these recipes. I love trying out all these natural oils. Super fun for sure. I hope it works out for you.

I don’t know a lot about essential oils, but I think it’s awesome that the recipe cards are included so you know what to do with them.

Exactly. I wouldn’t know what to do with them without the recipes. I mean, I could make it up, but it’s nice to have guidance for what they are each good for. I adore the recipes. And they are kinda fun to make too.

I think this kind of thing is literally perfect for teen girls. When I was teen (and now LOL) I loved trying out skincare regimens and making them was half the fun too, like homemade masks and what not. This would be a perfect box for a teen sleepover or spa Saturday. I totally love that idea even for myself, haha. I love the natural aspects of using these oils too rather than harsh man-made chemicals. I’m so in love with this box:)
