Ingredients Needed to Make these Sweet Biscuits

To make these sweet biscuits you will need:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup skim milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • Optional:
  • 2-6 Tbsp. butter for topping
  • 2-6 tbsp. honey for topping

Mix dry ingredients together in one bowl. Mix wet ingredients together in another. Stir both. Then combine and stir together until well mixed. It will be a sticky batter.

Spray muffin tins with cooking spray. This will make twelve sweet biscuits. Divide the batter between all muffin cups.

Bake at 375 degrees for 18 minutes. Cool and serve with butter and honey to top, or slice and add butter/honey.

When to Make These Sweet Biscuits

These biscuits will be great as a part of a breakfast with eggs, sausage, or bacon. They could also be used to make little egg-biscuit sandwiches. They would be good with gravy as they do in the south too.

They would be perfect accompanying soup for lunch or alongside a salad.

For dinner, these would be a yummy side to go with any entree.

These biscuits would also be great for Easter brunch or Mother’s day. Christmas morning is another option, quick options are needed for that busy morning so these quick biscuits are perfect.

Ever find yourself in a panic trying to make a quick meal for your family? Gosh… this happens to me a lot. This is a perfect quick, homemade addition that would go well with many types of meals. Your welcome:)

Make it ahead

This recipe is easy to prep ahead of time. Dump the dry ingredients in a bag that can seal. Add the wet ingredients, except honey, to a bag and toss the wet ingredients in the fridge. I add the honey right before I’m about to bake the biscuits because honey gets hard in the fridge.

This is a great recipe to make ahead for camping as well as the ingredients can be stored added to sealed bags at home, then simply add honey and bake them over the fire or on a grill. Always be sure to use cooking spray so they don’t stick to the pan.

This is a perfect idea to prep for when having company too so that you can prep it ahead of time and make it with ease when your company is over. This gives you more time to spend with your family and friends while entertaining.

Variations to Try

This recipe is very easy to try variations of additions with . Here are some of my ideas:

  • blueberries
  • strawberries
  • raspberries
  • raisins
  • nuts
  • shredded cheese
  • chocolate chips
  • cheese and jalapenos
  • craisins
  • cinnamon and sugar
  • unsweetened cocoa
  • brown sugar

This could also be done in a loaf pan I suppose, though I have not tried that yet.
