Cruelty Free Skin Care is important to me. I’m a vegetarian by choice, largely because I don’t want to eat animals so it makes sense that I also love to use products that aren’t tested on them. I just don’t think it’s fair to make them suffer just so we can have new products. I wish the United States was more like Europe where they use people volunteers more for new products and for medical purposes. To do my part to reduce the suffering of animals, I use cruelty free skin care products and makeup whenever I can. I’m going to share my favorite products here.

I have found cruelty free skin care products are becoming more and more readily available, and that makes me very happy. As a responsible consumer, I for one don’t need new products that have appeared on the market after hurting an animal. I don’t like to see animals suffering so this is a very important issue for me. There is no judgment from me for those who do use products tested on animals, I just strive personally to use as many cruelty-free, vegan, and vegetarian products as I possibly can.
What does cruelty free mean? It means the products are not tested on animals. There is a little symbol often added to cruelty free products. To learn more, visit this website: https://www.worldanimalprotection.us/blogs/how-world-going-cruelty-free
Cruelty Free Skin Care Soaps
Hand Soap
There are two cruelty free soaps I love to use. One I’ve found at Target or on Amazon and it’s a hand soap that comes in a metal dispenser. I love how it feels so slippery on my skin and how it leaves it feeling so clean as it washes off easily in a stream of water. I usually get the sweet mint and eucalyptus scent. It’s a vegan soap that is also palm oil free. I love the sustainable suds it produces and how clean it washes my hands without drying out my skin.
I’ve found the sugar scrub on Amazon at this time too. Check with them to see if they have the hand soap available, otherwise I’ve found it at Target. It’s a great line of products that are cruelty free, not tested on animals.
Cruelty Free Body Soap
I love to use Renpure Tea Tree Mint invigorating body wash. This soap is great smelling and leaves skin feeling fresh. It slightly tingles your skin if you keep it on long enough. I use this soap in the shower for my face always, and sometimes for my body. I love the tea tree oil products. The soap is antibacterial and antifungal naturally with the tea tree oil.
This soap contains zero sulfates, parabens, dyes, gluten, phthalates, and propylene glycol. The bottle is also recyclable so continuing on with good healthy Earth practices, once gone, the bottle can be recycled. I love that. The soap is clear.
They offer many different aromas as well. I’ve found this soap at Walmart and on Amazon.
Bar Soap
I also love Dr. Bonner’s All-One Hemp Lavender Pure-Castille bar soap. The vegan soap contains at least 80% certified fair trade ingredients and is made with organic oils … so it’s a socially and environmentally responsible company. It is not tested on animals. It’is also organic certified. It smells wonderful!!! I just love it. I love the whole stance of the company and admire their work, love their products.
They sell multiple different scented soaps as well as liquid soaps. It actually has multiple potential uses. See the links below for more information.
Cruelty Free Makeup
Foundation
I use foundation every day to even out my skin tone. The one I’ve been loving using is made by Wet n Wild. I use the Photofocus line. It doesn’t have sunscreen in it so I just put some on before I apply the makeup. I’m happy to find a makeup line that makes a cruelty free product so I can happily, and guilt-free, use makeup. It is also very inexpensive, so that’s another bonus.
They offer multiple makeup products.
Powder
I love to use e.l.f face powder. My skin is very oily so I’m constantly having to apply powder to keep my shine under control. I adore the finish of this makeup powder and since I use a lot of it, I fly through it quite quickly. I am able to find it at Walmart or on Amazon. Right now with COVID restrictions, I’m ordering it from Walmart for home delivery (I’m very happy with their unlimited plan). The powder is very reasonably priced at only $3.00.
The other powder I use to help control shine is made by Hard Candy. I have found this makeup at Walmart. This one doesn’t have color; it’s translucent. The powder itself is white though, so I balance the use of it with the e.l.f. powder for color so I don’t look so white. The powder smells really good because it has rosehip oil in it. It’s not oily at all though because it’s a loose powder.
Eye Shadow
I also use Hard Candy’s Top Ten eye shadow collection. They offer multiple color palettes, but I love the nudes collection. I use it every day and love the sparkly shades too.
Bath
Taking a bath is great for your skin. Water is so healing. Add a bath bomb and it can be very refreshing and moisturizing for your skin. I adore this set of nontoxic bath bombs. They don’t test on animals because as they don’t need to. I love how they are environmentally responsible. The bath bombs are the ultimate in self-care. Grab a glass of wine, your book, and pop one of these natural bath bomb balls into your bath for a luxurious, enjoyable, and guilt-free soak.
I can not convey to you how deliciously wonderful these bath bombs smell. These are handmade and include shea and cocoa butter. They are great for moisturizing dry skin. The bath bombs are made in the USA by a woman, to learn more search for her on social media @ lifearound2angels.
The bath bombs are also individually wrapped so they would work great as party gifts for a goody bag.
HOW TO USE: you simply fill your tub and get it, then drop the bath bomb in and watch it fizz. The water will turn a color, like pink, and the aroma is heavenly, so it’s very fun, relaxing, and rejuvenating in addition to being good for your skin.
Facial Mask
I have found the absolutely perfect clarifying mud mask for my skin. I’m in love with it! I have oily acne-prone skin…still in my forties. I know right! I’m rolling my eyes so hard I can see the back of my neck! LOL! Anyway, this mask smells amazing and it has really helped my skin calm down. Plus, it’s cruelty-free. I’m using it almost on a daily basis with fantastic results. I’m really happy I’ve added this amazing product into my skincare routine.
It is made with fair trade shea butter and African black soap. The amazing backstory of these products is their origins lie within the creations brought about by the grandma of the current sellers of the amazing Shea Moisture products. It’s an old, effective, natural, and amazing combination of products. Legendary in their effectiveness. You simply must try out these products! I’m completely enamored!
Natural Health to Calm Acne
There’s one more product I love to use for spot healing of acne flareups. It’s a great product you use overnight and it calms the skin, reduces inflammation and redness, and helps in healing. It’s all natural too and, of course, cruelty-free as well.
I’ve found this product on the shelf in my local Target store.
Self-care
Self-care is important. Using products for self-care that you are comfortable with is also important. I feel good about using these cruelty free skin care products so I really wanted to help promote them by writing reviews of them for you. I hope you have found this post helpful.
