Valentines Day Gifts for Him: Experiences
Experiences are a really fun and memorable gift to give. Sometimes I feel items get forgotten about through the years, but an experience, that’s never forgotten. I could not tell you what my husband gave me ten years ago as a gift, but I sure can talk about going out to eat at a good restaurant, going to a play, or even something as common as going to a movie. Experiences are memorable, long-living memories that become a part of a couple’s story, but items, they are just items and may even end up in the trash some day. Intangibles are the best gifts. Here are some ideas for you. Here are some ideas.
The List of Experiences:
- hot air balloon ride
- favorite nice restaurant
- surprise date where you plan it all, IT ALL!
- weekend away
- bowling
- a restaurant downtown, by water, by mountains, by something cool and majestic, natural, beautiful
- a massage given by you with homemade massage oil (see recipe )
- a professional couples massage appointment
- coupons for intimacy or fun activities, or even chores (though chores aren’t nearly as fun as the other too!)
- coupons for special favors, or get out of the dog house for free (a free pass for a dumb move LOL)
- a play, concert, or professional production
- a special dinner made on-demand…maybe from a homemade coupon too, as mentioned above
- a movie
- a full day devoted only to him and what he wants to do
- a new restaurant visit, one neither of you have ever been to before
- breakfast in bed
- dessert in bed (ignore the mess just enjoy)
- evening cocktails, in bed…see a theme here?
- a water park visit
- decorate a plain white bed sheet with a Sharpie marker for intimacy fun, surprise him! Make it a game and buy those big dice.
- coconut oil rub down, use the solid coconut oil and slather it on nice and thick, stuff is awesome and melts right on contact with warm skin
- go with him to the shooting range of his choice and let him help you shoot (this will lead to nice touching and closeness), if you are into learning how to shoot that is, not everyone is of course
- do his thing, whatever that is… whatever he’s into, even if you hate it, tell him you will go do it with him, then take over the planning of it, unless he wants to plan it then, by all means, let him do his thing!
- take him shopping at his favorite store for his gift, then pair it up with his favorite restaurant or coffee shop afterward
- go to a professional photoshoot and get pictures just for his eyes only
- beer or wine club membership
- go skiing or other outdoor recreational sports activity like golf or a batting cage
- picnic
Valentines Day Gifts for him: Items
Okay. Items are good gifts too, of course, especially when they impact his life in a positive way. If the item improves his life, makes it more enjoyable, makes food taste better, or somehow positively impacts his life, it’s a winner!
Travel Related Gifts
I have this amazing pillow I just love, so will your man. It’s a travel pillow but I use it almost daily when I sit on the bed I keep in my home office. I like to sit there and read or listen to something on my phone and this pillow improves my experience because I’m so comfortable when using it. It just molds right to whatever body part I want to support. It’s perfection! Not only does it mold, but it’s also is a comfy solid support structure that provides total comfort, meaning it doesn’t squish flat but conforms. It’s great for at home or travel. He will love it.
And bonus, it’s made in the USA so if you are American you can support your country by buying an American made product. Win-win!
Listening While Traveling, and beyond
Air pods are fantastic. And they are absolutely perfect for travel, and home use. I just received a pair for Christmas and now I wonder how I’ve survived without them! They have immensely enriched my life! I’m not exaggerating. I love to use them while on the treadmill and not having a cord has made treadmill exercising so much better. I used to periodically accidentally smack the cord while speed walking on the treadmill which would cause my phone to slam down on the treadmill–not good! Now with air pods that doesn’t happen. Trust me, if he doesn’t have cordless earbuds yet, this is a perfect gift for him.
Cordless air pods are great for travel because you aren’t chained to a cord, you have freedom of movement, which is important for comfort during traveling. I love how they are cordless because when I had earbuds with a cord, they constantly would tangle up and need to be fixed. With air pods you are free from this headache which will improve your enjoyment of whatever you are listening to.
The air pods are also great for exercise while listening to music or watching a show, these little magical things stay in your ears. I’ve worked out with them in my ears and even done head roll exercises and the little beauties still stay in my ears. It’s lovely! My husband now wants a pair, the other four of us in the family all have air pods, so now he wants to join the lovely world of cordless listening. The only thing you have to remember is to charge them if you use them. I end up charging mine daily because I use them daily. The handy little charging case works great though and it’s very convenient because it’s portable and holds a charge.
Grilling Gifts
Grilling gifts are great because they lead to a better grilling experience and then there is yummy food to eat. My husband is a big grilling fanatic. We have the ceramic green egg grill which works great for grilling and smoking meats year-round, even in a cold Minnesota winter. He collects spice blends, meat rubs, sauces, and different types of wood chunks to enhance the meats he grills. So I bought him a sauce pot and basting brush set. It’s very inexpensive but perfect because the brush gets set back on top of the little pot rather than having to lay it on the dirty surfaces near the grill. It’s easy to use one-handed as well.
Grilling is a great hobby that is also functional … you get a meal! Here are a few grilling items my husband loves. Use as many items as desired to make a basket of grilling items for a gift.
A rib grilling rack is very convenient and makes grilling ribs really easy and simple. I love the handles on this one for ease of moving it in and out of the grill.
Does he like it hot? I love this little kit. It’s great for the amateur chef who likes to get creative and make his own hot sauces.
Gifts to Get Him Feeling Good!
You can’t ever go wrong with any kind of gift that is related to massage. Massage oil, a back massager, a vibrating back rubbing electrical massager, or as I mentioned above a couples massage, or even one for him alone to use at his discretion. This unit below is also a fabulous option for relaxing at home.
Now this is a truly valuable gift that will get him feeling so good. A foot massager will relax him after a hard day of work or after grueling yard work. Everyone loves a foot massage so he will sink right into the soft couch and place his feet in this unit for heaven right in the living room! Then you can sneak a turn too;)
Gifts for Cocktail Hour
Enjoying a beverage is a great way for him to unwind. Gifts that go along with sipping on an adult beverage add to the fun and enjoyment of the activity. Whisky stones or drink making kits are a fun gift for the liquor loving man.
Technology Gifts for Him
You can’t go wrong with technology for a gift for a man, they usually love techie gifts. Theses gifts are enjoyable, entertaining, and improve quality of life.
This boombox is expensive, but I love it! It’s waterproof and rechargeable. It’s perfect for tailgating, camping, fishing, or hanging out in the backyard by the bonfire. It is a powerhouse of sound.
A shower speaker is the perfect way to enhance an already perfect shower. I think just about every man would like this gift. The nice thing about it is it’s very inexpensive, but he will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. And, you can use it too! Win-win!
A fitbit is not only fun, techie, and convenient, but it also promotes a healthy lifestyle and well-being with all its abilities. This is a perfect gift for a man on Valentine’s Day.
