I’ve made these waffles for my family many times and they are a favorite recipe at my house. The waffles are easy to make and super delicious when eaten fresh. If we have any leftover, we pop them in the toaster to enjoy them the next day. We usually eat them all unless they are a part of a bigger breakfast, then we often have a little bit leftover. I love it when we have a bit leftover because I can enjoy one with coffee the next morning.

Homemade Comfort Food Apple Pie Spice Waffles
I love these waffles on a weekend morning when I have more time to cook. My family enjoys a big breakfast on the weekends. It’s a tradition at our house whether we have eggs and pancakes or waffles with eggs, we enjoy a bigger meal in the morning. With five people in my family, we easily go through a dozen eggs in one breakfast. I always add in hash browns, toast, waffles, muffins, or easy butter pancakes.
Ingredients for Homemade Comfort Food Apple Pie Spice Waffles:
The ingredients for these waffles are common, easy to find ingredients.
- white flour
- baking powder
- apple pie filling, either cinnamon apple or plain apple
- apple pie spice, I like to use ®McCormick Apple Pie Spice containing cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice
- Top with syrup and butter, as desired
You will need a waffle iron to make these waffles. My waffle maker requires about 1/2 cup of batter per waffle, so for my waffle iron, this recipe makes five waffles. Grab yourself some syrup and you are ready for yum!
I have made this recipe both when fully blending the apple pie filling until smooth, and also only partially blending to leave some apple chunks. It is very tasty either way, so do what you like best. I enjoy a few apple chunks in the waffles to give it more of that apple pie feel, but either way tastes fantastic!
Breakfast, Brunch, or Breakfast for Dinner
These waffles are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a favorite at our house, breakfast for dinner. My kids could eat breakfast at every meal they love breakast foods so much. I must admit I love breakfast foods too. I am almost always in the mood for eggs, hashbrowns, waffles, or quiche. Scroll down to see some quiche recipes you might enjoy.

This Tomato Basil Hybrid Vegetarian & Ham Croissant Crust Quiche is one of my specialty recipes I call a hybrid recipe. This recipe is hybrid because it is designed to feed both vegetarians and meat-eaters from one recipe in one dish. It’s easy, you just need to be mindful while cooking. Think half and half pizza and add the meat last which allows for half the pan to be meatless and half to contain meat.
And be careful when cutting to keep the vegetarian portions separate from the meat portions so you have pieces that are meatless and pieces that have meat like this:
