Time for Poppers!
In the fall with football season and jalapeno peppers ripe in the garden, it’s time to make my favorite delicious No Grain Hybrid Vegetarian/Meat Jalapeno Poppers. I grow jalapeno peppers in my garden each year and they always grow so well. I wanted a new way to use all those peppers so I created this meat and grain free recipe to make poppers (you can easily add meat of course like precooked bacon or ham). It’s great to be able to have the popper flavor without the added grain from breading.
The three cheeses mixed with the jalapeno spiciness is so tasty. I love when the cheese browns a bit on the top and gets a slight crisp crunch. Or I love when cheese oozes down the side during cooking and crisps where touches the pan. Yum!
I remove the seeds from the jalapenos. Some people wear gloves when working with jalapenos because the peppers leave juices on the skin. Once I remembered this too late and I took out my contacts before bed and my eyes were in excruciating pain but I couldn’t figure out why. Then I remembered I had handled the peppers to make poppers that evening. So wear gloves or really wash your hands very well with lots of water to thoroughly rinse off your skin.
