Tips for Youth Football Players from a Football Mom

Football Helmet

Football season is upon us and as a football mom I’m excited to embark on another fun sports season. My boys love and play football so as a family we spend our fall on the sidelines of the football fields. My oldest has played for five years and as a football mom I have learned several tips to make football practices and the overall experience of football as optimal as possible. Of course it is a dangerous sport, I will agree to that. But so many other sports are dangerous too like hockey, ... Continue Reading...

When Another Kid Is A Poor Sport And It Hurts My Kid

July 25, 2016

Football Helmet

For The Love of Football My son loves football. The season is almost upon us again and those fears of what other kids will do to him rattles my nerves already. I’m afraid of what the kids who are poor sports will do to him. He has been the victim of unsportsmanlike behavior that has enraged this mama bear to the edge. It has taken all my restraint to not go ballistic. Kids get riled up and they might go too far, and I get that. But when it’s a blatant act of intent to do harm, my blood ... Continue Reading...

Join me on my journey of a humorous recount of a crazy evening I should have just made spaghetti. A Parent's Life… There is a short lull in between when the kids come home from school and the evening schedule crunch ... Continue Reading...

An Illegal Hit in Youth Football

March 30, 2016

The worst case scenario in football, our son was tackled and sustained a concussion. My husband and I watched it happen to our fourth grade son. We saw him slammed into as the other player speared him from the side in an illegal hit leading with his helmet. Our son crumpled to the ground and we could hear him crying from the sidelines. As he sat on the sidelines and watched his team continue the fight without him, he made a choice to go back into the game. A hard game to watch as the parents of ... Continue Reading...
